Installation

Hardwood flooring can be installed in almost any space over nearly every substrate. Weather installing over a standard subfloor above ground or over a concrete slab in a basement, we’ve done it all.

Sand + Finish

Site-sanded wood flooring offers the greatest versatility in terms of stain colors and finish details. We can sand and finish any new floor, and most old floors, to your specifications. We use high quality dust collection equipment with HEPA filters for all of our sanding tools and we work hard to leave your space as clean and dust-free as possible.

Restoration

The iconic nature of wood flooring is enhanced with age. Whether installed a decade ago, or a century, a wood floor can be revitalized to restore its original beauty. Most historic homes & buildings have wood flooring, often hidden beneath layers of carpet, tile or linoleum. While many styles come & go, wood floors are truly made to last. With proper care, an old wood floor can be restored to be the centerpiece it was meant to be. Old wood floors are showpieces of the craftsmen who created them & are a link to the past, with character that cannot be imitated. Rather than settle for a cover-up, let us restore your wood flooring to bring lasting beauty to your space once again.

WOOD FLOOR MAINTENANCE

Thank you for choosing Ramsey Hardwood Floors, Inc. for your wood flooring project! With the proper maintenance & care your new wood floor will be a beautiful addition to your home or business for many years to come. Here are a few recommendations for the preservation of your wood floor:

1. Please do not replace any furniture for at least 24 hours after the final coat of finish has been applied. To help prevent scratching, it is best to install felt pads on the feet of all furniture that will sit on the floor. All rugs and walk-off mats must be left off of the newly finished floor for 7 days to allow the finish to cure fully.

2. Always keep dirt & grit off of the floor. This is best accomplished by vacuuming or sweeping thoroughly as often as is needed, daily for most commercial spaces.

3. Clean your wood floor with a mixture of water & vinegar (1/4 cup vinegar to 1 gallon water) or Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner ONLY. Please DO NOT use any type of soap or cleaning solution that will leave a residue (such as Murphy Oil Soap, etc.). When mopping, use only a slightly wet mop. DO NOT allow much water to sit on the floor! Wipe up any areas of heavy moisture immediately after mopping. Inc

4. After mopping your floor please do not replace any rugs or walk-off mats until the floor has dried completely. Most rugs will trap the moisture and may cause damage to the finish.

5. Watch for wear patterns. If you begin to notice areas of your flooring that appear dull or areas where the finish has become thin, please call us! If you have used the proper cleaning techniques & products, we may be able to lightly buff your floor & apply an additional coat of floor finish without sanding the flooring to bare wood. This will greatly add to the longevity of your wood flooring.
